This greeting card is inspired by my love of cherry blossoms. My first experience of them was at the University of Washington in Seattle. They have this area called the Quad which has a number of cherry blossom trees. In the spring when they bloom it’s such a magical area. And when the petals start to fall, it reminds me of snowfall.
While I no longer live in Seattle, I can enjoy them in the DC area where cherry blossoms are a huge event. Tourists come into town and there’s a festival to celebrate these beautiful trees.
When I set out to illustrate this greeting card, I started studying cherry blossom trees. I had no idea there were so many different varieties!
This folded greeting card can be used for a number of occasions – birthday, Mother’s Day, thinking of you, thank you. Flowers can brighten anyone’s day.
