Easter is next week. I know my kids are going to get their fill of candy so I try to balance things out by giving them the non-sugary stuff.
If you're looking for non candy ideas here are some fun ones:
Books. We're avid book readers in our household and I love to give them as gifts.
Peep and Ducky Rainy Day by David Martin is a story of two birds looking to entertain themselves both indoors and outdoors.
Thank you to Colleen Post for letting me know about Peep and Ducky! She is the author of the Samuel and Joey, an adorable story about brothers.
Need other book ideas?
Games. We love the Blue Orange™ games like Spot It!, and Speedee Bee. They have a number of games that are not only fun to play but will fit into an Easter Basket. They are also handy to keep in your purse or take on trips.
Stickers. We love the Peaceable Kingdom sticker totes. I'd post a photo of what we have but they're pretty beat up. Click this link to see their selection, we especially love Train Time. Their size makes it ideal for Easter Baskets. They are also reusable!
Other non candy Easter Basket fillers:
Don't want to spend a whole lot on the Easter basket? I hear you! A lot of the items I mentioned are at your local dollar store.
Have an older kid that will think these items are lame? Check out Perpetual Kid and Fat Brain Toys for fun, unique and downright weird gift ideas. Paper Source and Chronicle Books also have a lot of unique items that are fun.
I'm sure I'm leaving out other fantastic ideas, let me know in the comments below if you have other suggestions!
