My dear grandma passed away in January. She took care of me while my parents worked during the day and was like a second mom. In fact, she was a mother figure to so many of us as we were growing up. So it was hard to say goodbye.
Thoughts of her are still fresh on my mind so I sketched out this valentine card in honor of her. It's a simple but cute cupcake and says "Grandmas are Moms with lots of frosting".
I'm offering it as a free printable, click this link to download the jpeg file. If you don't have a color printer not a problem! Download this card with the outlines and print. Use watercolor paints, colored pencils or crayons to add your color. It makes a great craft project for the kids and grandma will appreciate art work from the grandkids.
As for envelopes, I recommend using a rectangular sized envelope. If you use a square one you have to pay extra for postage.
I know I can't leave out the Grandpas! I had to think about what would be a good design. When I look through our family photos I see this recurring theme:
Of course once I had the lightbulb moment I went to sketch out a cone. One scoop and I couldn't stop drawing. I ended up with six scoops. How fun. Click here to download the printable card. And click here if you want a card with just outlines and want to color in your own.
While I created these cards with Valentine's Day in mind, I left the inside blank so you could use it for other occasions. Father's Day, Birthday, Thinking of You - these cards work well for other holidays. Grandparents always appreciate being thought of and still enjoy receiving a physical card. Enjoy and let me know what you think. If your kids make these cards into an art project I'd love to see a photo!
Happy Valentine's Day to the Grandparents out there!
